DREMA 2024 stronger than last year

Share

This year's edition of the International Trade Fair of Machines, Tools and Components for the Wood and Furniture Industries DREMA promises to be very positive. The trade fair, which will be held on September 10-13, 2024 at the MTP Poznań Expo grounds, will be larger than Drema 2023 both in terms of exhibition area and number of exhibitors. Once again, major companies have signed up to participate in the event, which will showcase innovative solutions and technologies of tomorrow for the woodworking, wood-furniture and lumber industries.

The exhibition also includes machines for cutting and sewing fabrics, components for furniture production and furniture accessories, as well as adhesives and varnishes.

Visitors will be treated to the DREMA Tools zone, where ITA Tools and its partners will present a full range of tools for woodworkers and craftsmen. There will be workshops on complex processing of modern materials and demonstrations of tool sharpening with the innovative laser ablation method. On the other hand, in the TRENDY 2024 Zone, manufacturers of furniture hardware and accessories will present their novelties.

Once again, the Furniture Factory LIVE will operate in one of the pavilions. This is another installment of the DREMA FOR CHILDREN project. It's a charity event carried out in the form of a live furniture production demonstration, organized by the Association of Manufacturers of Woodworking Machinery, Devices and Tools DROMA, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of Poznań University of Life Sciences and the Grupa MTP. Lazzoni Group is the executive partner. The event will showcase the latest furniture manufacturing technologies, combining a noble goal with practical education. An area of 2,000 sqm will become an arena of practical skills for students. The furniture produced during the fair will be donated to the Local Government Nursery in Myślenice and the Youth Education Center in Jastrow.

A considerable part of the exhibition was devoted to woodworking, hand tools and power tools. This is a treat not only for professionals, but also for DIY enthusiasts and DYI lovers. With them in mind, there will be a DREMA Hobby and zones prepared by, among others, drewno.pl. In the outdoor area, in addition to the presentation of machinery in motion, there will be demonstrations of forklifts, and a novelty will be the Infotech City zone presenting a digital mobile carpentry shop.

It is also worth visiting the Parquet Zone prepared by the Association of Polish Parquet Makers, the Polish Championships in Nail Hammering and an exhibition of works awarded in the competition Conjured in Wood organized by the Inwestor Publishing House. In cooperation with the Narzędzioholicy.pl group, an Action-Renovation will be held, which will result in the reconstruction of an antique piece of furniture (detailed information available at www.drema.pl).

Expertly about the industry - DREMA Academy

The program includes more than 20 events: conferences and panel discussions on the current market situation and the automation and mechanization of production processes in the spirit of Industry 4.0. On the eve of the fair, another edition of the KOOPDREW Wood Industry Congress will be held. This international conference organized by the Polish Economic Chamber of Wood Industry will discuss opportunities and threats for the forest-wood sector in the coming years. Experts from Poland and abroad will present how to deal with current challenges and prepare solutions to protect domestic companies.

The prospects of the furniture and timber industry and the challenges of supplying the industry with wood raw materials will be discussed by participants of the 9th National Furniture Congress, organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers (OIGPM). The event, which will take place on September 11, 2024, will bring together managers from leading companies. They will discuss the directions of change, upcoming challenges and development strategies in the industry. OIGPM is also preparing the 6th Meeting of Women Associated with the Furniture Industry. Among the new events will be the 1st edition of the Young Technologists Forum, aimed at future specialists and teaching staff.

The DREMA Forest action, initiated last year by the DREMA trade fair team, will continue. This year's action, carried out in cooperation with executive partner Posadzimy.pl, is an opportunity to jointly afforest areas of Poland that are poor in trees. During the event, each fair visitor will be able to sign up to participate in the project by providing contact information, and in return - on their behalf - one tree will be planted during the action's finale. Each participant will also receive an individual certificate confirming their involvement. The project aims to promote the idea of sustainability for the wood and furniture industry and, as a result, contribute to the restoration of the valuable natural resources that the industry uses.
